Librarian - Northwestern Connecticut Community College, Winsted. 35 hours per week (Full-Time) / 12-Month Tenure Track Position. Anticipated Starting Date: December 27, 2013. Northwestern Connecticut Community College is seeking an innovative and student-oriented librarian to join a team-oriented, academic library. This position requires the ability to work some evenings and Saturdays, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited institution and a strong commitment to public services, including one to four years of related experience in an academic library, and a demonstrated passion for teaching information literacy skills to individuals and classes. Candidates must also have: experience with developing and administrating learning assessment tools; effective interpersonal, oral, written, and online communication skills; experience leading or supervising others; ability to work independently, as part of a team, and work with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and community members; and enthusiasm for tackling all aspects of the job description with creativity and flexibility. The Bakerville Library Board of Directors is seeking a candidate with strong communication, customer service, and technology skills to direct a small, rural library in New Hartford, CT. The position is approximately 25 hours per week. The librarian is responsible for the purchase and circulation of library materials, the supervision and training of assistants and volunteer staff, the preparation of financial and statistical reports, and some library programming.
