Library Associate: Acquisitions, Part Time - Bay Path College, Longmeadow (MA). The Library Associate will oversee and maintain acquisitions functions for library materials in all formats using WMS software; assist in interlibrary loan functions using OCLC and other automated systems; and perform public services, including circulation of library materials, reserves, and general office support. Twelve-month position, 30 hours per week during regular business hours; occasional evening and/or weekend hours may be required. Qualifications: academic degree, business focus preferred; familiarity with academic library services; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software; Internet search skills; library experience desirable; experience with WMS and OCLC software a plus. Reference/Bibliographic Instruction Librarian - Housatonic Community College, Bridgeport, has an immediate opening for temporary, part-time (15 hours a week) Librarian. A Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program is required. Candidate should have reference experience which includes knowledge of electronic (databases and internet) and print resources; solid reference skills; good communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to establish a professional and respectful relationship with a highly diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and public. Teaching experience with library instruction or other forms of teaching is a plus. Principal responsibility of the position is providing reference assistance to students. Maintains quality of entries to ensure authority control and quality of database. Utilizes appropriate tools to create original bibliographic records according to commonly used practices. A Masters in Library Science Degree from an ALA accredited library science program and one year of cataloging experience required. Knowledge of AACR2 and RDA, DDC, OCLC, and MARC format.
