The Top 100 Websites for Your American / German Career

100? Seriously? You wish. This is a small niche.

Even with the economy between the U.S. and Canada on one side and Germany, Austria and Switzerland on the other going strong, you will have a hard time even finding 20 websites that offer valuable tips and tools for your job search or career in business between North America and German-speaking countries in Western Europe.

Okay, I admit  it - I've borrowed the headline for this post from Forbes, which just presented its readers' recommendations for "The Top 100 Websites for Your Career."

Dell is looking to add multiple Advanced Storage Support Engineers to our team in the following locations:

Round Rock, Texas (relocation available)
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (relocation available)
Eden Prairie, Minnesota (no relocation available)

This position is a point of escalation for complex enterprise solutions. Advisors, as analysts in this role would assist with both troubleshooting issues and the design of technical solutions in a range of dynamic environments. Analysts will also have opportunities to both deploy solutions as well as assist global teams of deployment engineers in the field.


This position puts the Analyst in front of emerging technologies and provides the latest in high level training. The Analyst will also mentor and train others in this industry-leading environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses technical ability to resolve highly complex issues for enterprise customers surrounding storage and including technologies such as VMWare, Linux, Microsoft and networking.
Coaches, mentors and provides guidance to internal employees to help them improve their technical skills
Provide technical assistance to help resolve issues relating to a variety of enterprise technologies
Research and reproduce technical issues using enterprise lab resources
Work with vendors’ engineering group to provide solutions to complex issues
Maintain certification and enhance technical abilities
Develop and deliver training related to technical specialties
Prioritize projects, issues and tasks




Five to ten years of direct experience managing or supporting enterprise-level environments
Strong knowledge of storage NAS, SAN or Data Management technologies (prefer Equalogic, EMC or Compellent)
Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following: Linux, networking, VMWare ESX, Microsoft
Administrative experience supporting Linux, networking, VMWare ESX, Microsoft
Applicant must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to make technical decisions with little or no management intervention
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated and self-managing

Duties and Responsibilities:

Position in the development group responsible for the NX Nastran structural finite element software. Responsible for developing algorithms and writing & reviewing the associated computer software in a team environment. Apply an understanding of customer requirements and how customers will use the product. Participate in formal Requirements, Functional Specification, Design Specification and Test Plan reviews for software projects. Evaluate development, testing and integration processes to recommend improvements. Contribute to product quality by fixing customer reported problems. Assist with user documentation

Minimum Requirements

Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or equivalent.

Desired expertise:

Finite Element Methods as applied to structural dynamics
Background in Non-Linear Structure Analysis, theory & practice
Numerical analysis techniques for nonlinear transient/dynamic problems
Proficient in a programming language (FORTRAN, C++)
Sense of initiative with good organization skills
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
