4-year Lectureship at UNC-Chapel Hill

Position Summary: The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for the position of Lecturer to begin in Fall 2014. The position is for an initial term of four years, and is periodically renewable upon review. We seek a dynamic person who is prepared to redesign and teach undergraduate physics or astronomy courses using pedagogy informed by physics and astronomy education research. The Lecturer will join other faculty members in the department engaged in such activity, and will participate in obtaining grant support for curricular and pedagogical improvements. The materials to be submitted include a CV (including courses taught), a statement describing his/her teaching philosophy, and any available evidence of teaching effectiveness. Responsibilities:
Teaching responsibilities will consist of three lower division laboratory course: Two calculus based and two algebra-based lavs for the first semester of introductory physics. FT Lecturer at Case Western Reserve

The Department of Physics at Case Western Reserve University is seeking a Full Time Lecturer to teach courses in the College of Arts and Sciences Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program (STEP), which include Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Math and Statistics. The Lecturer will teach venture creation and feasibility of technology courses in the program and work with faculty members in Physics and other departments to plan courses, prepare and deliver lectures, and supervise and mentor students in the program that are starting companies or seeking internships. The position also includes carrying out administrative aspects of the program, including but not limited to recruiting, marketing, public relations, STEP alumni relations, and development, including grant writing and seeking other sources of support. The position is an academic year appointment with the possibility of summer instruction under a separate contract.

A Masters Degree in science entrepreneurship is highly desirable, as is experience in the development of entrepreneurship programs and teaching entrepreneurship courses. A Bachelors degree is required.

The Papua New Guinea University of Technology is located in the industrial city of Lae, the second largest city in Papua New Guinea with population of over 100,000. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer

The appointee is required to lecture courses, teach laboratory classes and conduct research. He/she must be willing to teach big classes and get along well with his/her colleagues.

SALARY : Professor - K133,885 - K184,327 per annum
Senior Lecturer - K 99,874 - K121,743 per annum

Initial contract period is normally for three years but shorter periods can be negotiated. Other benefits include a gratuity of 30% in the first year, 35% in the second year and 40% in the third year, support for approved research, appointment and repatriation fares for yourself and family, settling-in allowances, six weeks paid leave per year, recreation leave fares for yourself, spouse and two authorized dependants after 18 months of service, education fares and assistance towards school fees for two authorized dependants, salary protection plan and medical benefit schemes are available. Staff members are also permitted to earn from consultancy up to 50% of earnings annually. Free fully furnished accommodation provided.
