Part Time Staff/Digital Services Librarian - Berlin-Peck Memorial Library. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Staff the adult reference desk; Promote the effective use of all information resources through marketing and training; Update and maintain library’s website in coordination with website committee; Provide training and instruction to staff in use of automated systems and databases; Work with the town IT dept. to ensure an efficient technology environment for the library’s digital services; Assist patrons and staff with common computer hardware and software problems. Schedule: Tuesdays, 9-4; Wednesdays, 3-8; Fridays, 1-5; Every 4th Saturday. Library Assistant Computer Services: Social Media - Easton Public Library

Library Assistant Computer Services: Social Media - Easton Public Library is offering a challenging and rewarding position. The library assistant will provide expertise in the implementation and maintenance of the library’s social media program, website and public relations in order to emphasize library services that are available to our patrons using both traditional and virtual communication outlets. Duties include: social media programs and website implementation and maintenance; create original content for social media, website, press releases, online newsletters, brochures, flyers, etc., train/instruct patrons (one-on-one or as a group) and staff in the use of emerging technologies, (including downloading e-books, audiobooks, online databases, and use of electronic devices such as tablets and e-readers) and computer equipment and software including OPAC and internet searching, work at circulation desk. Minimum qualifications include: Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in current and emerging technologies; strong writing and good editorial judgment; adept at identifying and crafting content; ability to learn new technologies quickly and autonomously; ability to acquire and keep current skill with new virtual trends and technologies in libraries; instructional skills and experience; ability to give clear presentations; team player who is innovative and adaptable; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, associates, subordinates and the general public. Bachelor’s Degree in computer studies, marketing or a related field and two years experience working in libraries or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides a demonstrated potential for performing the duties of the position. This is a full-time position and includes benefits. Hourly rate is $19.33 for a 36 hour work week. Part-Time Reference Librarian - Public Library of New London

Part-Time Reference Librarian - Public Library of New London. The position of reference librarian is now open at the Public Library of New London. This is a part-time position of 19 hours a week, with a variable schedule that includes daytime and evening hours and Saturdays in rotation. The person holding this position oversees collection development, is responsible for the Non Profit Resource Center and serves as the library webmaster. Other responsibilities include staffing a busy reference desk, promoting community outreach and programming. MLS/MLIS degree, public library experience, and a thorough knowledge of Word Press website software or other similar website maintenance programs are required for this position. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary. Salary range is $20-$22 an hour, depending on experience. There are no benefits with this position. Webmaster/Network Services Assistant - Wilton Library seeks a full-time Webmaster/Network Services Assistant (afternoon/evenings with full benefits: Mon-Thurs, 1-8 pm; Friday 11-6 pm) to manage its website, cover help desk functions, set up audio/visual presentations and maintain equipment. Excellent computer skills, including WordPress, DreamWeaver, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), web browsers, web-based email, and photo editing software. Duties include daily updating of website, setting up/operating audio/visual equipment (computers, projectors, microphones, movies, etc.); providing exceptional help desk support for patrons and staff; updating and maintaining computers, iPads, Nooks, and Kindles; rebuilding computers and replacing/repairing peripherals as directed; and other assignments as required.
