King's College seeks an Assistant Professor of Physics. This tenure track position begins fall 2014 and will be responsible for teaching introductory and advanced physics courses and will occasionally teach general education courses as a part of the College's core curriculum. Interested candidates should be committed to teaching at an institution where the liberal arts are emphasized, be prepared to develop a research program suitable for the inclusion of undergraduate science majors, and be committed to growing our new physics major and 3+2 Engineering program. A Ph.D. in a related discipline is required by fall 2014; prior postdoctoral or college teaching experience is beneficial. The successful candidate will also support the Holy Cross Mission and Catholic identity of the College.

Job Description: Full-time, tenure track position in the Physics program. Preferred candidates will demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and strong knowledge of microcomputer based labs and lab development. Ability to teach in astronomy is a plus.

Duties of Position: Maintains highest possible standards of classroom instruction. Applies innovative teaching and learning pedagogies; demonstrates understanding of unique needs of physics transfer students.

Education Requirements: A Master's degree in Physics is required. PhD preferred.

Experience Requirements: Post secondary teaching experience is required. Two years of community college teaching experience is preferred. Teaching responsibilities beyond those typical of a teaching assistant is preferred.

TT at SUNY-New Paltz

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the State University of New York at New Paltz, a comprehensive college in the Hudson Valley, is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in physics to begin in Fall, 2014.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development and teaching of courses for the general education curriculum that focus on current events and/or challenges that involve physics.
Qualifications:
~ The minimum qualification for this position is an earned doctorate in physics or a related area. ABD candidates with a firm defense date may be considered.
~ Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to quality teaching and student success.
~ Candidates must show evidence of the ability to implement a research program in any area of experimental physics such as materials science, biophysics, condensed matter physics, optics, acoustics, that can be carried out at SUNY New Paltz and successfully involve undergraduates.

Rockford University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in physics starting August 2014. A PhD or ABD in experimental physics required. Combined responsibility for introductory and some advanced level physics is required. Also, teaching some mathematics and/or computer science courses is possible, with the potential to expand the current minor in physics. Strengthening the physics laboratory program is an important task. Prior full-time college teaching experience is highly preferred. Enthusiasm for teaching in a small-university liberal arts setting is essential.

TT/T STEM Ed, University of Nebraska Omaha

The University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Arts & Sciences seeks to fill a tenure track position in interdisciplinary STEM-related natural science education, at the advanced assistant or associate professor level, beginning in Fall 2014.  The Haddix Community Chair in Science will provide leadership and expertise in STEM education within the candidate’s disciplinary area of expertise. In addition, the successful candidate will serve as an interdisciplinary resource promoting STEM education across the natural sciences, will collaborate with other STEM chairs, and will work closely with education faculty to address critical matters of K-12 STEM education in metropolitan Omaha. A competitive salary will be commensurate with qualifications and the position includes a chair’s stipend and program operating budget.
