Youth Services Choice Coordinator (part-time) - Hartford Public Library

Youth Services Choice Coordinator (part-time) - Hartford Public Library seeks creative and flexible individual for providing effective access to resources, information and ideas, and acts as a point of contact for all school of choice services, programs, and applications, including Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) issues, Sheff vs. O’Neil related lotteries and applications, and Hartford choice programs. Evening and weekend hours are required. Minimum requirements: Bachelors Degree in a related discipline required; Masters Degree in Library Science or Education from an accredited program helpful but not required. Previous experience working with youth and families required. Previous experience in customer service. Previous library experience highly desirable. Previous supervisory/managerial experience required, preferably in a service organization. Bilingual preferred. Children’s Librarian - East Hampton Public Library

Children’s Librarian - East Hampton Public Library is seeking an individual with demonstrated supervisory experience and familiarization with the operation of children’s library services. This is a full-time position. Duties include, but are not limited to planning, developing and executing programs designed to interest children; provide outreach and in-library services; supervise staff and volunteers; prepare statistics, reports, publicity requests and work circulation desk as needed. Position requires strong knowledge of technology frameworks used to deliver library services in a growing community with changing needs. Strong interpersonal skills with all age groups are essential. Two years in a lead role delivering public services with MLS or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Children's Assistant - Trumbull Library System seeks an energetic, customer-service focused and responsible individual to join the Children’s Department part-time at the Fairchild-Nichols Memorial Branch Library. The successful candidate will have experience working with children and families and the ability to provide homework help, reader’s advisory and present story times to younger children. Qualifications: Minimum Associate degree. Educational background or prior experience working with pre-school aged children a must. Experience in public library setting a plus. Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and with sensitivity when responding to patron queries. Proficiency using basic office computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, and a working knowledge of information and early literacy principles. Familiarity with digital technology, mobile devices and social media. Specifics: 19 hrs. weekly. One evening and rotating Saturdays. $10.50/hr.
