TT at Lane College, TN

Physics: The Department of Physics at Lane College seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track position. Responsibilities include teaching 4-5 classes each semester and participating in departmental activities. Appointment begins August 6, 2013. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D, Ed.D, or the equivalent. Lane College is a Charter Member of the United Negro College Fund. TT, STEM Education, Claflin University, SC

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Professor reports to the Dean, School of Education. The candidate must be able to teach courses in STEM related subject areas (Mathematics and Science) and other required courses at the undergraduate level in the School of Education and collaborate on content related grant projects. Responsibilities include collaborating with current faculty, academic advising, scholarship, participating in ongoing re-accreditation efforts in related content and in creating and implementing policies according to the South Carolina Department of Education and Claflin University guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate should have a PH.D. or Ed.D., with a breadth of knowledge/experience in science education, mathematics education or a related field. A doctorate in a field of education that is closely related to the qualifications of this position, teaching experience in Science Education or Mathematics Education, and current knowledge of K-12 teaching and learning requirements are preferred. In addition, the successful candidate should be prepared with at least Masters level credentials to teach courses in STEM related subject areas.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
