Post-doc in Science Ed in Turkey

Dear Colleagues,

I am looking for a post doctoral researcher who would like to work on curricular Delphi study for science education.

The TUBITAK-Research Fellowship Programme for Foreign Citizens will be used for funding.

Maximum duration for the fellowship is 12 months. The duration for fellows already received within this program will be deducted from the total duration of the fellowship.

- A monthly stipend of 2.250 Turkish Liras.
- Travel and insurance
Payments are transfered to the bank account of the fellow after having signed the letter of commitment.

TT at University of Hong Kong

Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment as Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, from as soon as possible.  The post will initially be made on a three-year term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.  Tenure may be offered to qualified candidates.
The position will be in any field of Physics.  Existing research activities in the Department include astrophysics, condensed matter physics, high energy physics, and materials science.  Candidates with commitment to high-quality research and excellence in teaching are encouraged to apply.  Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 201200995) need not re-apply.

Postdoctoral Fellowship @ University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg

Call for Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship Applications 2013/2014


The University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg is a research intensive university ranked in the top 250 global universities (http://www.wits.ac.za/).  It is the home of 15 NRF A-rated researchers and six Centres of Excellence.  Situated in the financial heartland of South Africa and indeed Africa, the University is both cosmopolitan and vibrant.  It offers excellent opportunities for Postdoctoral Research Fellows to undertake cutting edge research.  The AW Mellon Foundation has kindly agreed to support up to seven Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in the Faculty of Humanities at Wits during 2013/2014/2015.  The Fellowships are open to all candidates who have completed their PhD degrees in 2008 or before.

The selection of candidates will be based upon the merit of the proposal submitted and the strength of their CVs.

Areas of Research: Any research in the general field of humanities and social science will be considered.  The candidate will need to slot into one of the following Schools[1]Arts; Education; Human and Community Development; Literature, Language and Media; Social Sciences and the Law.

Value of the Fellowship

R10 = $1 US
The value of the Fellowship is R 180 0000 per annum tax free which is sufficient to cover living expenses including accommodation costs. Also included in the Fellowship are contributions towards
·        Research costs – R 20 000,
·        Medical insurance - R 15 720,
·        Once-off relocation costs - R 10 000.

Period of the Fellowship

The period of the Postdoctoral Fellowship is two years renewable annually depending on the candidate’s research performance.

Burt Hill - CAD/BIM Manager - Dubai Office - filled Feb/07

Burt Hill, a large international architecture, engineering and interior design firm, is looking to fill their Dubai office CAD/BIM position within its IT department. Their Dubai office has grown to over 250 employees in approximately 2 years of operation. It is producing a large volume of exciting world-class projects in the active Dubai market. They currently have a need for a highly motivated, CAD manager who can support the projects teams use of AutoCAD technology.

Keep in mind that Burt Hill is in the midst of a process to migrate all of its CAD technologies to a Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment, mainly via Autodesk Revit technology by mid-2009. Therefore, they are seeking a candidate who can help support their current, traditional CAD environment, while also assisting in the migration to their new Building Information Modeling process.

You'll be part of their international CAD and BIM teams (These teams include the CAD/BIM Managers from all of their offices) as the Dubai office’s representive. That you have experience working internationally is crucial to be successful.

Some specific skills and knowledge required:

AutoCAD technical support abilities
AutoCAD customization abilities
Support and enforce corporate CAD/BIM standards
Technical support for CAD printing/plotting
Knowledge of Revit Building, Revit Structure, Revit Systems and Civil 3D
Revit customization abilities a plus
