TT in Physical Science at Wheelock College

Job Description:
The Mathematics/Science Department is seeking a science faculty member for a full time, tenure track position in the life or physical science.
The new faculty member will take a leadership role in advancing course development and curriculum design within the science program as part of a larger initiative to increase math/science content knowledge of students. The successful candidate will have an interest in developing and growing a science program in accordance with the various majors offered at Wheelock College including prospective elementary and pre-elementary teachers. As such, the successful candidate will have additional responsibilities such as teaching inquiry-based laboratory courses related to their content area of expertise, advising students, grant writing, and participating in the administration of the Math/Science Department and the School of Arts and Sciences.

Requirements:
  • Doctorate in Science (e.g., Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Meteorology, Environmental Science)
  • Undergraduate teaching experience
  • Evidence of teaching excellence
  • Demonstrated or emerging record of scholarship, research, and publication
  • Demonstrated or emerging ability to secure external funding through grant writing
  • Strong commitment to teaching with an inquiry based pedagogy
  • Ability to integrate technology in teaching, including hybrid and online teaching, as well as classroom applications.
