This candidate will work on various tools projects such as internal tools, reports applications and plugin development in Java. The candidate will participate in all stages of software development including gathering requirements, software design, coding, testing, release, maintenance, and support. The candidate will also work collaboratively with other internal teams to ensure cross-functional goals are met.
Responsibilities:
- Internal customer requirements definition and analysis
- Develop tools/solutions to meet the requirements
- Maintain & upgrade existing tools/customized plugins
- Unit testing of developed code/reports & perform code review
- Investigation and root cause analysis of defects or urgent support requests for existing tools
- Deploy the development artifacts to a staging area for release to production
- Create and execute approved test plans and analyze and report results
- Interact with customers/users to support software acceptance process and act as a liaison between
third party vendors and user community
Requirements
- Undergraduate/graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management
Information Systems
- 5+ years development experience with Java/Sprint/Hibernate/SQL/SOAP/RESTful Service/Tomcat
- 2+ years of working experience with following languages/technologies: Groovy, Grails, JavaScript
, jQuery, AJAX, Apache, PostgreSQL(or Oracle), MySQL, MS-SQL, Tableau Reports (or similar reporting technologies i.e. OBIEE, BIRT)
- Strong object-oriented design skills
- Working experience with Scrum/Kanban methodologies
- Working experience with Relation Database Scheme/advanced PL/SQL functions
- Working experience in Windows & Linux server
- Working experience with Maven, Mercurial
- Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Fisheye, Crucible is plus
- Experience with Continuous Integration tool is plus
- Knowledge on Amazon Web Service/NoSQL database is plus
- Ability to multitask is a must, as efforts will be focused on numerous initiatives and tasks
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
