Project BIM Leader - NBBJ San Francisco

NBBJ San Francisco – whose primary markets are Healthcare, Science/Higher Education, and Housing – is seeking a Project BIM Leader to lead successful coordination of BIM production and coordination at a project level using Revit Architecture. Skills and Qualifications
  • B. Arch. or equivalent degree required; M. Arch. preferred.
  • Expert level knowledge of Autodesk’s Revit Architecture required.
  • Previous experience using Revit in the delivery of large, complex projects.
  • 7-12 years experience in architectural industry; experience with Virtual Design and Construction Methods / BIM.
  • Ability to communicate and present design ideas to a variety of audiences.
  • Highly proficient with Navisworks, 3DMSMax, Sketch-Up, Rhino, Grasshopper, or other graphic design tools and associated workflows.
  • Experience with parametric or scripted modeling a plus.
  • Experience with Autodesk related programming languages also desired.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Participate in BIM set-up, standards and coordination process on projects.
  • Provide day to day guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members to optimize Revit features and follow project modeling standards.
  • Participate in technological collaboration between project team members, client, architect, builder, consultants, subcontractors, etc.
  • Facilitate the exchange and coordination of the 3D model with consultants and contractor/fabricators.
  • Establish early standards for data exchange with entire Project Team to optimize use of the BIM for scheduling, quantity take-off, estimating, etc. during all stages of the project.
  • Lead the development of standard families and detail libraries of blocks, groups, curtainwall, casework, etc.
  • Work directly with NBBJ Firmwide Design Technology Team (DT) regarding BIM process standards, technology support and training.
  • This position reports to and receives direction from the Project Manager and Studio Core Team.

MEP BIM Specialist - San Francisco

MEP (any of the above in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) BIM Specialist
for construction building company in San Francisco, all BIM related
platforms (in order of importance): Revit MEP, Vico, Archicad. This person
should be an Engineer who practices with BIM, and is very coordinated in
developing projects in Revit MEP.

The ideal candidate has outstanding communication & presentation skills,
fast paced, is highly motivated, thrives in a frequently changing work
environment, possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic.

The SF BIM Technology Team's Primary Responsibilities include:
1. Coordinate Internal & External Project tasks in BIM MEP
2. Must come from an Engineering background in MEP - and has worked on
projects of large scale ­ must show and demonstrate examples of projects in
MEP.
3. Develop BIM MEP projects, including but not limited to detailing,
analysis, code compliance & quality assurance (QA).

Minimum Requirements:
- B./M.Arch or B.S. In Engineering or similar Construction related
engineering disciplines, ie., Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing.
- Experience in concrete & steel frame large commercial and institutional
domestic and international projects a plus.
- 3 years minimum experience in a design technology role such as AEC Project
Manager, Project Architect, Job Captain or CAD/BIM Manager, Application
Engineer, CAD/BIM trainer or similar.
- Revit MEP project experience and knowledge or very strong knowledge of
other BIM tools.

Design Applications Managers - Perkins + Will - Dallas & San Francisco

Perkins+Will seeks experienced Design Applications Managers for our offices in Dallas, TX, and San Francisco, CA.

This experienced role will join you to our IT Organization's Design Applications team in supporting and leading our Revit Architecture application, other BIM tools, legacy CADD applications, collaborative tools, and various visualization production applications.

You will be a Revit Architecture subject matter expert, providing a range of direct level 1 through levels 3 and 4 technical support to our design professionals. You must bring a passion for projects, people, customer service and teaching to this role. You will routinely deliver training and contribute to training design and direction. Some travel will be required from time to time.

Continuous development of your skills in our core applications will be a priority and you will be expected to be a strong thought leader in the advancement of our BIM-centric practice. You are ultimately responsible to the Firm-wide Design Applications Manager. You may have one or more Design Application Technicians under your supervision and mentorship.

Requirements:
• You must have excellent collaborative and organizational skills. An ability to document and prepare materials for training and orientation will be expected of you.

• You must have demonstrated deep knowledge and mastery of Revit Architecture, including ability to administer, install, configure, setup, customize, etc. Proven project support experience will be required of you.

• Knowledge of Navisworks and other BIM applications is desired.

• In addition to being an accomplished Autocad Architecture (ADT)/AutoCAD user or support resource you will have solid experience with 3D Studio MAX/VIZ, Mental Ray, animation, or other advanced rendering techniques and familiarity with rendering farm implementations.

• Other non-Autodesk systems experience and knowledge (e.g. SketchUp, Rhino, FormZ, ArchiCAD, Triforma or Generative Components) is a plus and familiarity with Newforma, Buzzsaw, ProjectDox, Constructware and other project collaborative tools is desirable.

• You will be expected to provide a moderate level of support for the PC environment, plotting and Microsoft Windows/Office desktop and Adobe Creative Suite products.

• 5 to 8 years experience in an architectural/interiors/planning or similarly oriented practice environment and a minimum of an Associate degree in an Architectural Technologies is required; BS Arch, BArch or MArch is preferred.

The firm is a leader in the use of information technology in the AEC industry, including Building Information Modeling (BIM), and is aggressively transitioning to Revit. In addition, the firm utilizes 3D Studio Max, Autocad 2008, SketchUp, Navis Works, and other software.

This position will entail active, hands-on, assistance to Revit project teams as a member of the companies IT group. It will include developing processes, training material, and content, as well as teaching and providing expert advice to individuals and groups.

* Ideally, they will also be able to articulate and identify processes, express these graphically, and write well.

BIM Implementation Specialist for Architecture Firm

This position is based in our downtown San Francisco office and reports to the SmithGroup California IT Manager.

SmithGroup is in the process of transitioning CAD practices to Building Information Modeling (BIM). The BIM Implementation Specialist will assist California office pilot project teams in efforts to accomplish this transition gracefully. In addition, the BIM implementation specialist will provide SmithGroup California staff with a measure of support in their use of our legacy CAD program, AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain CAD / BIM Help Desk for California offices; Serve as a resource to project teams using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
