Primary Responsibilities

The role of the Bid & Proposal Manager is to deliver commercial results by developing, implementing and continuously improving the bid and proposal process.

The role will create compelling and client focused proposal documents and presentation materials to support the activities of the sales team.

The role will manage a small team of bid and proposal writers and mentor and coach the team as well as ensure a consistent approach.

Reporting to

General Manager, SSC

Specific responsibilities

Sales and Marketing
• Actively identify and review appropriate tender databases in alignment with sales strategy
• Conduct preliminary enquiries regarding tender opportunities
• Create compelling and client focused proposal documents and presentation materials for the sales team
• Support the sales team with developing approaches to large proposal opportunities
• Identify external incentive schemes for customers to cover SSC product purchases such as government grants
• Achieve defined KPIs for sales revenue and proposal value
• Maintain records for sales activity
• Support the sales team researching market opportunities
Client Services (Internal)
• Update all client information as required in Certnet database
• Ensure CRM system information maintained
• Report on pipeline
• Develop, implement and continuously improve the bid and proposal process to ensure a consistent and efficient approach for the sales team
• Project manager the tender and proposal process
• Actively commit to and contribute to continuous improvement


Team Development
• Mentor and coach a small team of proposal writers
• Manage the performance of a small team of proposal writer

Profile

• Experienced bid and proposal manager delivering complex solutions to large multi-site organisations
• Proven success writing service solution proposals which deliver commercial results
• Experience working with multi-location teams
• Experience conducting market research including identification of tender and grant opportunities
• Intermediate to advanced IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, database).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Primary Responsibilities

Responsible for performing quantity determination inspections of ships, barges and pipeline transfers of petroleum, petrochemical and chemical products.

Specific responsibilities

• Physically sample, measure, and take the temperature of vessel’s tanks and shore tanks utilizing a variety of methods dictated by company and API procedures.
• Calculates and reports quantities transferred and perform full reconciliation of same.
• Accurately complete all required reports and forms.
• Work in cooperation with client’s representatives, U.S. Customs, vessel personnel, government agents and shore facility personnel to insure accurate results are achieved.
• Maintain regular communication with office staff with reference to job status, problems, concerns, etc.• Maintain knowledge and adhere to the latest industry and client procedures and standards as provided by SGS.
• Individual must be dependable and reliable whose daily presence adds to the success of the Department.
• Provide guidance and assist in the training of Inspector Trainees.
• Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity.
• Assist in other branch duties as assigned (Dispatching, filing, sampling disposal, etc.).

Profile

- High School degree or general education degree (GED).
- Ideal candidate should have at least 6 to12 month’s transferable experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and/or groups both within the organization or while representing the organization.
- Basic math comprehension with an aptitude for fractions.
- Ability to speak another language a plus, but not necessary.
- Must be able to perform job duties as it pertains to:
• Working outdoors during adverse weather conditions (rain, heat, cold, etc.,)
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must be able to climb storage tank ladders and stairs, typically 25 to 65 feet high.
• Must be able to climb vessel gangways, stairs, ladders, etc.
• Must be able to carry up to 75 pounds of samples, gear or equipment.
• Must be able to differentiate between colors accurately by sight.
- Must have flexible schedule and be available 7/24 hour basis. Able to work extended or abnormal hours (evenings, weekend / holiday) when needed to meet business commitments.
- Must be able to travel to mulit-locations directly from home / office and travel daily which can lead up to being away from home up to 24 hours at a time.
- All required licenses must be maintained in an active status without suspension or revocation throughout employment.
- Must have reliable insured transportation, with sufficient room to carry equipment. (Will be provided with vehicle allowance.
- Depending on situation, may have to utilize SCBA and / respirator. (Will be trained and fit tested).

# Primary Responsibilities

The position is responsible for working towards successful setup, day to day deliverables and closure of various concurrent projects. The Project Coordinator will ensure that the project is mobilized accurately as per client specifications and scope, on schedule and in compliance with the contract and job cost estimates with the assistance of SGS support groups

•Geotechnical Field Operations Manager

Specific responsibilities

Operations

• Prepare initial set up of job
oProject Scope: Define Manpower and Equipment needs
oProject Spec: Define and supply Field Supervisor and Technicians with accurate project specifications (i.e. Sampling Rates, Testing Rates)
•Project cost controls and forecast using proven SGS methods
o Monitor weekly / monthly reports from Finance and Operations Support (Overtime, Vehicle Operating Costs)
oAssist Sales with Monthly Rolling Forecasting project by project
•Ensures execution of the job through the assigned Project Supervisor
oCradle to grave monitoring of Project Deliverables
oLiaise daily or as required with Project Supervisor
oHold face to face meetings as necessary with Supervisors and their direct reports to ensure project(s) are operating as per client spec and scope
oManages Project Change Order is conjunction with the Field Supervisor assigned to said project(s)
•Works with Geotechnical Field Operations Manager and Supervisors to allocate field equipment
oEnsure equipment calibrations are up to date and equipment is in good working order
•Work with Supervisors, Sales and Geotechnical Field Operations Manager to prepare change notices / orders, estimates and costs
•Ensure all assigned staff to the project(s) are supplied with SGS HSE policy & procedures information, client specific orientation dates
oLiaise directly with SGS HS&E staff to ensure 100% compliance before mobilization
oOrganize, with SGS and or Client HS&E for any HSE Gaps
oEnsure that Nuclear Gauges are properly signed out and in as per CNSC / SGS policy and procedures
•Learn consistent use of SGS standards within folder structure
oCoordinate all relative project data
oOrganize project(s) data electronically
•Liaise with SGS support functions and external groups
•Ensure company policies and procedures are being adhered to
•Maintain a schedule and labour plan for the project(s) through a GANTT chart
•Control the receiving and distribution of client issued documents
oSpecification and Scope changes to be discussed and agreed upon with SGS Geotechnical P.Eng, Project Supervisor and when necessary Geotechnical Field Operations Manager
•Maintain individual project purchasing control sheet whereby all materials and equipment are listed and when purchasing required
oWeekly project(s) procurement form to be provided to SGS Geotechnical Admin
oGeotechnical Admin to procure and ship to assigned location(s) (Fort McMurray, Cold Lake, Edmonton, Calgary etc.)
oMonthly project(s) procurement log for individual project cost control auditing
oOrganize, with Procurement / Admin, Operations and Client any rental equipment or sub-contractors required
• Preparation of billings
o In conjunction with SGS Finance Team ensure that Field LEMs and Timesheets are received in an accurate and timely manner
•Coordinate cascading of company information to all field staff in assigned operational areas
oProject(s) specific Spec / Scope change communicated electronically to all SGS staff pertinent to the project(s)
•Assist with final close out documentation and materials collections
•Client liaison as a representative of SGS in conjunction with SGS Sales Staff where and when applicable
•Compile appropriate documentation and provide to Project P.Eng. for compilation into Turn-Over Package.
• May be assigned special or ad hoc projects, periodically.
