Award winning Blackpool Zoo is looking to fill a key position within its Animal Department.

Experienced Primate Keeper (Ref No- AD/PK/12)
Blackpool Zoo is looking for an experienced primate keeper to assist in the daily care and husbandry needs of their Primate Section. They will also help in developing and moving forward the section within the framework of the animal department's aims and objectives in a new and exciting period within Blackpool Zoo’s history. The section currently maintains over 20 species of primates including Red-fronted Lemur, King Colobus, Red Titi, Goeldi’s Monkey, Emperor Tamarin, Black Howler Monkey, L’Hoest’s Monkey, De Brazza Monkey, Pileated Gibbon, Bornean Orang-utan and Western Lowland Gorilla. You will need to be hard working, physically fit, enthusiastic and reliable. You should possess the Advanced National Certificate in the Management of zoo Animals or an equivalent and have a minimum of three years primate keeping experience. Some experience with great apes is essential.

We offer a competitive salary of £17,968.00 per anum, inclusion in the company’s pension scheme and the opportunity to further your career within the zoological world.
Subsidised single occupancy (on site) accommodation will be available with this post, if required.

Blackpool Zoo is ideally and conveniently located on the outskirts of the "UK most popular holiday resort". Less than a 5 minute drive from the M55 motorway, the zoo is also easily accessible from numerous rural villages in the surrounding area. The zoo’s 33 acre site is situated in a well established green belt area of the town and is only a 10 minute drive away from the town centre, which offers a veritable feast of nightlife, entertainment and shopping as well as the famous Golden Mile coastline. Blackpool can genuinely offer "something for everyone", from singles to families, yet within an hour drive of this vibrant town you can be in the Lake District, Manchester or
even the Yorkshire Dales

Salary Range £26,000 - £29,000 per annum
+ Performance related bonus and other benefits.

Blackpool Zoo is one of the UK’s most established medium sized zoos, and in recent years the zoo has gone through a rapid modernisation and development process.
The Zoo is operated by Parques Reunidos, one of Europe’s largest leisure and attraction operators which specialises in the tourism/leisure sector. Parques Reunidos currently operates 71 parks around the world and attracts over 25.8 million visitors annually.

We are currently seeking an Operations/Commercial Manager, dedicated to giving our visitor’s a great day out. Reporting to the Zoo Director on a day-to-day basis you will be part of the senior management team, with a remit to develop; exploit and manage all secondary spend opportunities whilst ensuring that the park is running smoothly and efficiently.

The operations manager must have the ability to maintain and build upon our reputation, ideally coming from an environment where health and safety and customer service are paramount.
The role will involve motivating and managing a team, dealing with visitors, personnel, accounting and facilities.
The ideal candidate will also have the ability to self-motivate and problem solve and enjoy working in a busy environment.

You will be an experienced senior leisure professional, an accomplished and experienced team leader, combining strategic and business awareness with the ability to influence and collaborate across the whole organisation. You will understand leisure best practice in the UK and or Europe and have delivered steady growth and innovative commercial developments, IT literacy, planning and presentation skills are essential.
