Legislative Assistant -- International Council of Shopping Centers

JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Legislative AssistantOffice of Global Public Policy International Council of Shopping Centers This individual will primarily support the state and federal government relations principals. The ideal candidate will have approximately 2-3 years of either state legislative or Congressional experience and college degree. This position requires analyzing legislation, attending hearings, conducting legislative research and helping the senior state and federal government relations staff and PAC staff as needed. This job requires excellent organizational, database management and communications skills (both oral and written). The Legislative Assistant will be resourceful, able to juggle multiple demands simultaneously, have some connections to either state government officials/staff or their federal counterparts, assist with the ICSC PAC and have good political sense. The Legislative Assistant will be responsible for monitoring various state and federal issues and tracking political trends at both levels. This position will assist the state government relations staff in educating and training ICSC gr volunteers around the country. There will be other duties as assigned, including assisting in annual government relations meetings and some PAC administrative duties. There may be some travel associated with this position.
