FIELD OF ACTIVITY
The safety and risk management system in Niger in cooperation with GIZ and KfW BGR minimizes the risks to which workers are exposed to in their environment and enables the same time, that in compliance with the risk limits remain in the country room to maneuver. Risk management advice, risk analysis and risk assessment are aligned with technical measures taken to ensure the physical and psychological integrity of employees and assist in the safe performance of tasks of development cooperation (DC) in a volatile environment. Task of the Risk Management Advisors is to advise the employees and subcontractors of GIZ, KfW and BGR at the various project sites in risk management issues.



YOUR TASKS

They have the task to entertain a modern risk management system on site and develop coherent, and you build on appropriate standards and guidelines of GIZ, KfW and BGR in Niamey. They continuously analyze the security situation in Niger and generally gather in the project sites in particular and evaluate safety information and arrange them in the context of development cooperation activities. Create risk, conflict, and actor analyzes, periodic security reports and incident reports. You are responsible for all aspects of daily operational security and risk management, including emergency scenarios. They initiate and carry out training through risk reduction.

Moreover, you keep in contact with a variety of stakeholders, including local and national authorities as well as international governmental and non-governmental actors. Also inform the employees and subcontractors of GIZ, KfW and BGR about the current security situation and implement directives of country risk management teams CRMT to protect workers. In a crisis you support the CRMT (GIZ Country Director and KfW office manager). The advice on security-related structural changes and the ratings of office and retail properties in the sense of physical protection complete your job profile.



YOUR PROFILE

You have a master's degree in social sciences, political science, communication, economy, security management, risk management and / or, crisis and disaster management or a related field and have specialized in issues of crisis and conflict prevention or peacekeeping. The concepts and discussions on civil-military cooperation in crisis prevention reconstruction are known to you. Optionally, a bachelor's degree in connection with qualifying experience will be considered as equivalent. They have in-depth knowledge of political and socio-economic analysis. You should security over about five years or risk management experience and have worked at least two years in conflict regions (ideally in Africa and in the context of DC).

They have very good analytical skills and a / s viewed / r communicator / mediator and in / in. They achieve good results under pressure and are able to make quick decisions under stress goal-oriented.Here you will manage to cope with multiple and overlapping tasks simultaneously and to set work priorities. They appear confident and able, oral and written, convey complex information clearly and competently, even if the theme of the target group is foreign. They master the French and German language in speech and writing. They set common IT applications and communication technologies savvy. Ideally you will already have experience in the GIC.

Niger is currently a country with very high security requirements of the German government. The safety management makes it necessary mobility and flexible working methods accordingly adapt and limit.Travel to the project areas and other regions of the country are currently under strict conditions (approval procedures, personal protection) and to a minor extent possible. The location is currently Niamey classified as non-family location (crisis level 2b).

Most of the year there is hot and dry climate, from July to October it is hot and humid. There is an increased risk of malaria during the rainy season. The supply situation and the flight connections are good. The medical care is satisfactory.
