UAV Mission Commander

Job Summary:
The Mission Commander will execute flight and mission planning prior to flight using all applicable publications, weather sources, and intelligence; coordinates airspace integration with all controlling agencies and participating units; facilitate mission brief is conducted in accordance with checklists and complete flight risk assessment; initiate pre-flight checklist and coordinates taxi movement; request clearance from appropriate agencies, monitor flight path for safety of navigation and ensure appropriate checklists are completed; monitor mission progress, flight parameters, and navigation, and make adjustments to mission as required; coordinate with controlling agencies and participating units for integration of UAS in air space; ensure appropriate clearance is received for return portion of flight, safety of navigation, coordinates with controlling agencies, and assists with appropriate emergency procedures.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Mission Commander is responsible for coordinating ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and ground and flight safety. Ensures compliance with service guidance, company policy and procedures and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.


JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in technical field or certified UAV school from the US Military. 7-10 years of experience as a UAV Mission Commander.
· Desired Requirements: Experience as a UAS Mission Commander working on government contracts or military experience is required.
· Training & Experience: FAA Class I or II Certification UAV Operator or specialized civilian/military training as a Avionics/Electronic Technician.
· Physical: Our work supports the Warfighter. The successful individual will be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently with little or no supervision.
· Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with a wide range of customers and Senior Managers. Must be comfortable supporting the Warfighter.
· Other: Secret Clearance is required.
