Ship Security Supervisor

This job reports to the Dir. South Florida Operation.Relocation is not provided and travel is required consistently.
This is a Full-Time position, working 1st Shift, 2nd Shift,12 hours shifts Days/Evenings/Night.

Overview
With operations in 15 ports across the U.S. and Caribbean, McRoberts Maritime Security is the leader in the maritime security industry.McRoberts is hiring Customer Service Oriented SHIP SECURITY SUPERVISORS to work onboard vessels out of the Port of Miami, Florida.

Applicants MUST have a Florida Security “D” License. Applicants with a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) preferred, but not required.

Two (2) years U.S. military or U.S. law enforcement or Police Academy graduates required. Two (2) years supervisory experience required. U.S. Coast Guard a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Implement approved Ship Security Plan
Liaise and coordinate with Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), federal and local law enforcement
Conduct regular security inspections of the ship
Advise the Master and Company Security Officer (CSO ) on all security matters
Promote security awareness and vigilance among crewmembers
Ensure security crewmember adhere to security procedures and rules
Calibrate security equipment
Keep required security records (training, calibration, maintenance, etc.)
Complete Declaration of Security (DoS) when required
Conduct security patrols of vessel and access control for cruise passengers, crewmembers, visitors, and vendors in accordance with approved Security Plans
Conduct pre-board screening of individuals boarding vessel using cabinet x-ray machines, walkthrough magnetometers and hand-held magnetometers
Monitor and report suspicious or criminal activity to Ships Command
Ensure crime scene preservation is conducted whenever necessary
Inspect documents validity such as; port ids, drivers licenses, passports for access control
Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
Assist in the deployment, recovery, maintenance, and housekeeping of equipment
Execute post responsibilities as required
Follow specific post orders
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of vehicles, cargo trucks, provisions and stores
Other duties may be assigned for operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two (2) years U.S. military and/or U.S. law enforcement experience required
Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience required
Casino security experience a plus
Experience working onboard ships a plus
Ability to work in a client-focused role within a fast pace environment
Ability to handle multiple tasks and high level of accuracy required
Strong Customer Service Skills
Must be able to communicate in English
Must be able to communicate professionally and follow directions from federal and local law enforcement authorities
Must meet State licensing standards of State where employed (e.g. Florida)
Must pass English literacy test and interview process
Must have professional appearance and demeanor
Maintain a current status of all licensesEDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma
Military, Law Enforcement, or Coast Guard required
Must pass required training
Florida Security “D” License
