Position: Sr. Product Development Engineer
Location: Milpitas, CA
Duration: Full time

Job Description:
The Product Development Engineer (System Driver) is part of the Systems Engineering Group in the Reticle and Photomask Inspection Division (RAPID).

Responsibilities:
- Maintains and coordinates daily schedules, helps prioritizes system usage, and supports all functions of the tool which include weekly health checks, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, system calibrations, SW/HW upgrades, revision control, testing, debugging and data analysis of measurement performance.
- Completes the initial diagnosis of any system issue. Must have the knowledge and experience to effectively work with experts in optics, laser, stage, loader, image   computer, and algorithms to actively assist in resolving the issues.
- Is expected to be a key contributor in design reviews and during the engineering / alpha builds and test phases of programs, which includes testing against the design   tolerances and the marketing specifications of a product release.
- Trains service and manufacturing employees.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and   techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
- Ability to Respond to system requests and perform complex problem diagnosis and problem resolution.
- Develop and document new troubleshooting procedure during Engineering Test and Beta phases.
- May be required to travel to customer sites to efficiently and effectively resolve technical issues (Fly and Fix) during and after product release.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to solve problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Ability to exercises good judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Ability to rigorously analyze large amounts of data and draw self-consistent conclusions
- Possesses the skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide   range of issues in thorough as well as practical ways.
- Must be result oriented and makes effort to involve/collaborate with other engineers and teams to resolve problems.
- Comfortable working and aligning across functional boundaries. 

Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic or semiconductor systems.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with semiconductor or equivalent capital equipment development and manufacturing
- Is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect
- Able to present in a variety of formal presentation settings; is effective both inside and outside the organization on both cool and hot/controversial topics, command   attentions and can manage small groups.
- Plans and prioritizes work on projects within varying environments and changing constraints.
- Recommends action on major product issues and modifications.
- Recommends the timeframe for completion of project work, assigning project tasks and delivery of quality work within schedule with changing constraints. 
- Strong understanding of the 7 step troubleshooting methodology.
