Manager, Government Affairs -- Mazda North America

Mazda North American Operations Manager, Government Affairs Mazda seeks a Manager, Government Affairs with an expertise in environmental and energy policy to join its Washington, D.C. team. The Manager is responsible for researching, lobbying and interpreting federal motor vehicle regulations and legislation. The position will take the lead D.C. role on environmental, fuel economy and trade issues affecting the auto industry. The ideal candidate would have at least 5-7 y.ears of federal legislative experience, an expertise in environmental/energy issues, and a four-year college degree in a related field. A working knowledge of international trade laws is a plus, but not required. The successful candidate will be articulate; possess strong research, writing and strategic thinking capabilities; be a self-starter with an ability to make independent decisions, but also work well as part of a team; and have outstanding interpersonal skills.
