The Renewable Energy Solutions SBU at Power-One designs, manufactures and sells inverters and related infrastructure products for the solar and wind markets. Power-One's newest facility supporting the Renewable Energy Solutions group is located in Phoenix, Arizona and it will produce its industry-leading photovoltaic and wind inverters, including single phase (2-6KW) and three phase string inverters, and NEMA 3R 250KW and 300KW central inverters.

Responsibilities:
This new role is required as a focal point of mechanical packaging and CAD expertise for the Engineering Team. Individual will be responsible for:
Contribute in all aspects of mechanical design, drafting and create and modify drawings per company design standards.
Proven direct hands-on experience in the design of NEMA 1, 3R, and 4X enclosures for LV electrical equipment (480V 3-phase) is a plus.
Design of clever and cost effective grid-tie inverter enclosures for indoor and outdoor installation working in conjunction with diverse suppliers
Collaborate with outside vendors and internal buyers to evaluate and compare pricing of materials to fabricate prototypes.
Provide status reports, support assembly procedures and create bill of materials.
Quick learning, creative lateral thinking, multitasking, passion for product design and engineering, team work, flexibility, willingness to explore latest innovation techniques, meeting personal commitments, plus:
Associates degree in Mechanical or CAD Engineering; focus on Power and/or Energy Engineering a plus.
Minimum 2 years of experience creating drawings and technical documentation.
Minimum 2 years of packaging and mechanical CAD experience in complex electronic enclosure projects.
Minimum 1 years experience with file management software such as Intralink, PDMWorks or similar.
Minimum 1 years experience with sheet metal design, calculating bend deductions and resolving fabrication issues.
Experience in Pro/Engineer and AutoCAD LT is ideal. Experience with SolidWorks, Solid Edge and other 3D CAD parametric tools are also a plus.
Experience with design of sheet metal, machine parts, single line drawings (SLD) and enclosures.
Effectively address ECO/ECR process.
Ability to apply GD&T to drawings as well as basic understanding of tolerance analysis.
Working knowledge of latest ASME Y14.5 standards.
Works well in a team environment.
Self motivated, creative thinker that is able to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with PLM system (Agile) is a plus.
Familiarity with NEC, CSA and UL standards/certifications is a plus.
