Every day, our Immigration Analysts with FDNS access USCIS data systems and other law enforcement and commercial databases to extract information concerning background checks and assist in the detection of fraud; verify information through systems checks, electronic inquiries and contact with lookout record owners and other law enforcement personnel; formally refer criminal aliens directly to ICE.

This position of IMMIGRATION ANALYST (FRAUD DETECTION AND NATIONAL SECURITY) starts at a salary of $53,575GS-09 Step 01, with promotion potential to$69,651 GS-09 Step 10.

Relocation expenses for USCIS employees assigned to an OCONUS location will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities
The Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate (FDNS) was established within USCIS to strengthen national security and the integrity of the country's legal immigration system by closely aligning the adjudication of immigration benefits and services with the identification of potential threats to national security and/or public safety, the detection and deterrence of fraud, and the use of law enforcement and intelligence information to ensure optimal security for U.S. communities. FDNS systematically identifies updates, and records indicators of fraudulent activities; manages fraud cases; identifies vulnerabilities and other weaknesses that compromise the integrity of the legal immigration system; and coordinates and provides logistical support in law enforcement and national security matters. FDNS is the primary conduit for information sharing and collaboration with law enforcement and intelligence agencies.

As a IMMIGRATION ANALYST (FRAUD DETECTION AND NATIONAL SECURITY), you will:

Access USCIS data systems and other law enforcement and commercial databases to extract and evaluate information to assist in the detection of fraud.
Verify information through systems checks, electronic inquiries and contact with lookout record owners and other law enforcement personnel.
Assist in researching and conducting studies which involve the search and examination of CIS records and databases to obtain pertinent information on cases, policies, procedures, trends, evaluations and other similar matters to make determinations on case specific problems.
Assemble and summarize incoming data and fraud information and prepare reports that draw conclusions based on the aggregate research.
Determine through consultation with record owners, whether a case must be held in abeyance, forwarded to adjudication, forwarded to FDNS officers, or submitted to another law enforcement agency.

MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATION: This position requires operation of a motor vehicle. You must possess a current valid driver's license.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Frequent local and occasional overnight travel is required.

Qualifications
GS-09: You qualify at the GS-09 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is defined as conducting searches and analyzing information from records/databases to assist in the detection of fraud. Such experience may include:
Providing assistance to analysts in the gathering of data, preparing documentation and creating reports related to background checks.
Researching and collecting information from databases to determine if information vets to a subject and the extent of derogatory information.
Interviewing database record holders and law enforcement officers to verify facts and obtain specific information; securing conviction records; and performing record searches OR
You may substitute a Master's degree or 2 full years of graduate education leading to such a degree in any field or a J.D. or L.L.B. degree for experience required at the GS-9 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise two years of graduate education. If that information is not available, use 36 semester or 54 quarter hours.

Howletts Wild Animal Park in Kent is currently recruiting for someone to fill the dual role of Section Head of Cats / Cover Security Person.

SECTION HEAD OF CATS:
To oversee the day to day running of the Cat Section and its four employees.

Howletts has a large and varied carnivore collection that includes Sumatran and Amur tigers, Pallas cats and North Chinese leopards as well as canids such as Dhole, African hunting dogs and Iberian wolves. Howletts currently has the largest collection of Clouded leopards in captivity and holds the EEP studbook for this species.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have previous carnivore management experience and will have had a minimum of 5 years experience within a main stream animal collection. A proven track record of personnel management is also required.

A proactive approach coupled with good organisation and communication skills and an overall understanding of the role of the modern animal collection is essential, as is a full clean driving licence.

COVER SECURITY PERSON:
To act as a general security person whose core role is to ensure that all visitors leave the park at set closing times. Additional duties include:
• Securing gates after closing time.
• Responding to security calls both during work time and out of hours
• Reporting faults on CCTV systems.
• Working alongside external companies to ensure CCTV systems are properly maintained.
• Responding to general security calls involving the public.
