Title: MEP Project Manager/Technical Consultant
Location: US Home Office, 75% travel

Role/Purpose:

You love our products – use your mechanical, electrical, plumbing project management experience and technical acumen to play a critical role for Autodesk accounts. This key contributor with Autodesk Consulting will provide post-sale MEP technical and business consulting to ensure customer success of new and existing accounts. Provide consulting at all levels including process assessments, training, implementation, mentoring and best practices support. This is an opportunity to work with and influence some of the most prestigious design firms in the world, as well as help them to shape the future direction of 3d tools. This is a home-based position and requires 75% travel.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interviews and consults with customers in order to gather and determine needs for project deployment.
  • Works with new and existing customers in order to identify unrealized customer needs and recommend business processes changes that help customers maximize ROI of purchased solutions.
  • Mentor customers to support the new solution deployment. In cases where customer purchases product implementation and support services, this person will provide ongoing consulting throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Responds to customer support requests for support via telephone or electronic queue. Utilizes internal resources and/or knowledge-based tools to diagnose and resolve technical and process issues.
  • Develops and conducts professional product training seminars in small and large forums, in person and via web casts, to accelerate customer adoption.
  • Develops, contributes and implements detailed customer deployment plans (i.e. Statement of Work / Implementation Action Plan).
  • Plays a key role in further developing current accounts by identifying complete solutions to meet additional unrealized customer needs.
  • Recommends best practices for solutions to meet customer business needs. May configure existing company products to ease the process change and adjustment required to ensure pilot project success.
  • Provides customer feedback, documentation and work samples to product management teams on quality, usability, content and feature requests for ongoing product improvement or feature prioritization.
  • Helps to identify key customer pain points with product implementations and clearly communicates them to appropriate marketing and product teams.
  • May also direct work or create work schedules.
  • May assume Partner Relationship Management or Product Lead responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs of MEP/HVAC design, drawing and detailing experience.
  • 3-5 yrs experience with leading architectural MEP design software (i.e. AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, etc.).
  • Minimum 3+ years in a MEP/HVAC project management role.
  • Great with people, consultative approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to develop and deliver projects for acceptance and get into production within cost/schedule constraints.
  • Strong understanding of workflow process between architects and engineers.
  • CAD management experience is desirable, especially with Revit and ADT.
  • Architect qualifications desirable.
  • Must be willing to become an expert in the use of Revit, and Building Information Modeling products.
  • Structural design and project management experience essential.
    Demonstrated ability to work in a team of technical personnel, sales people, project managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to drive decisions and get closure on recommendations and issues.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to travel up to 75% of the time and enjoy working with diverse groups of people with widely variable technical skills.

As a Technical Consultant, you will lead Autodesk clients through the development and implementation of collaborative solutions for their most critical business process issues. Articulate the value and processes associated with implementation best-practices to the Autodesk direct sales team and their vendor partners. Create complete solutions to common industry issues by diagramming business processes and leverage Autodesk Collaborative Project Management products.

Responsibilities:
  • Consult with new and existing customers in order to assess, gather and define their requirements and solution alternatives. Also, work with our customers to identify unrealized opportunities and customer value and promote Company solutions to drive additional revenue.
  • Recommend best practices for solutions to meet customer business needs.
  • Coordinate information flow between clients, project teams and vendors.
  • Write technical documents to include project status reports, business process documents and flowcharts, requirements, design, and training and procedure guide documentation, and other project documentation.
  • Configure and document solution to meet customer’s needs.
  • Train customers ranging from multi-day engagements or in mini trainings via a web environment.
  • May also add technical or subject matter expertise to sales in the presales and post sales process.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up, client responsiveness, and thorough communication.
Requirements:

As part of a dynamic growing consulting team with a leader in the AEC space, we are looking for experienced Commercial Construction Design Engineers, Project Managers and/or Consultants with at least 5 years experience in the Architectural, Commercial Construction Industry and/or consulting organizations, systems integrators or software vendors who implement projects for large customers and/or project management experience in the AEC/Construction Industry experience. Candidates should demonstrate a strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and AEC software in the related Collaborative Project Management solutions and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. Hands-on design experience is also required.

Additional Qualifications:
  • 3-5 yrs experience with leading architectural BIM technologies (i.e. Revit, etc.).
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management is preferred.
  • In addition, you will also need to demonstrate strong analytical, communication, consultative, organizational, process management, and project management skills. In addition, we would like candidates to have strong skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project).
  • Must be willing to travel 65% time over the course of the year.

In this role as a Product Support Technician, you will have opportunities to help support customers implementing some of the latest and most exciting products in the Autodesk AEC portfolio. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and a skilled technical analyst with strong problem-solving abilities.

This position in Product Support requires a detailed understanding of Autodesk Revit Architecture or AutoCAD Architecture, related products, specialty areas, and knowledge of the related industries. As a member of a shared responsibility team, you’ll not only help identify and solve technical problems and questions but also turn lessons learned into technical documents published into an extensive knowledge base on Autodesk.com.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and direct technical support to internal and external customers and partners, documenting this support in department’s knowledge based system.
  • Use knowledge based tools to diagnose, research and resolve technical issues.
  • Be an active member of a shared responsibility team.

Required Experience:

  • Two years using Revit Architecture or AutoCAD Architecture in a customer support or engineering environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working directly with customers in a service-related position.
  • Must have above average troubleshooting skills, strong analytical problem solving skills, and the ability to interpret technical questions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to convey complex technical details.
