The Regional Security Advisor (RSA)-MEERO will provide both strategic and operational support for overall security and risk management within Middle East & Easter Europe (MEER). Position is shared between MEER Office and WV Lebanon. 20 weeks of working time will be dedicated to WV Lebanon annually, based on Terms of Reference, determined by National Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Act as a technical resource to assist National Offices to carry out Security Risk Assessments (SRA) and Country Risk Ratings (CRR) as required by overall country risk level.

• Support National Offices (NOs) in development and implementation of context monitoring tools and related processes.

• Provide targeted support and training for security focal points/managers as needed, to build in-country capacity for ongoing security training and awareness activities.

• Facilitate regular security reporting from National Offices; contribute to and communicate Regional and Global regular security reports.

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:

• Undergraduate degree in Security or International Development Field with emphasis on organisational development or risk management.

• At least 5 years of experience in a proven security, risk management or emergency service field, including experience in NGO or UN Security Management.

• Sound knowledge of risk management, security & contingency planning, and crisis management in the humanitarian context.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Arabic, Pashtu, Urdu or Dahri will be advantage).

• Confirmed employment of the security officer is contingent on him/her passing the Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) training course within 90 days of employment (probation period).

• Strong analytical (tactical & strategic), organisational and problem solving skills.
