Law Enforcement Professional (LEP) Level II

Location AF-Helmand Province

Job Summary:
-LEP (Level II) advisors will embed in the US for up to six months and then deploy overseas (Afghanistan) for approximately seven months with US Marine Corps battalions for investigative, planning, instructor, subject matter expert, and criminal information analysis support in order to provide a law enforcement (LE) perspective to military operations. Experience "on the street" dealing with gangs, drug, and criminal organizations is necessary to the success of the LEP in supporting COIN operations at the battalion level.

Essential Job Duties
-- Ability to work under stress and complete short fuse requirements.
-- Must be of sound physical and mental condition and have no medical limitations on duty per USCENTCOM MOD TEN Guidelines and PPG-Tab A. No waivers will be submitted.
-- Must be able to live and operate in an austere field environment while participating in combat operations with small tactical units. Street patrols are the norm and require carrying PPE and equipment loads in excess of 80 lbs while on foot for extended periods.
-- Primary duties prior to deploying will focus on training assigned unit in cop on the beat/community policing skill sets. Once deployed, focus will be on site exploitation, detainee handling, community policing principals, operational planning, targeting, criminal analysis, and LE related training.


Minimum Req1uirements :
-- Unblemished law enforcement background.
-- Minimum 10 years civilian law enforcement experience with a federal, state, or municipal law enforcement department; including significant experience with interdicting organized criminal groups, gangs, drug organizations and/or public corruption.
-- US citizen and have a valid US Tourist Passport.
-- Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified material at SECRET level.
-- Possess excellent verbal and written skills in English.
-- Intermediate level skills using MS Office suite software.
-- Experience as an instructor or field training officer is a plus.
-- Possess a valid State Driver's License.
