Supervisory Security Investigator - Afghanistan

Job Summary

The incumbent directly supervises 7 Security

Investigators and one Data Entry Clerk. The

incumbent conducts simple complex and

sensitive investigations including but limited to

review and analysis of assigned cases of all types

to determine appropriate investigative cases,

interviews, records checks, and information

gathering processes. Directly manages high-level

liaison with Senior Afghan Police, prosecutors,

senior Afghan military and intelligence generals/

officers as part of a broad range of Embassy

programs, to include security, protective security,

and counter-terrorism. Obtain information from a

variety of sources relating to security incidents or

situations throughout the country.

Qualification

VA 13-144 Full Performance Level:

Education: Two years of college/university studies

is required.



Experience: Two years experience in security law

enforcement and investigation operations, with

progressively more responsible experience and

three years of supervisory experience is required.

VA 13-144T- Trainee Level:



Education: Two years of college/university studies

is required.



Experience: one year experience in security law

enforcement and investigation operations, with

progressively more responsible experience and 18

months of supervisory experience is required.



Language: Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading

English and Level IV (fluent) speaking/reading in

Dari is required.



Knowledge: knowledge and experience in the

conduct of investigations, protection of

information/evidence, and protective security

advances is required. Detail knowledge and

expertise of Afghan investigative procedures and

Afghan law, good knowledge of Afghan Law

Enforcement Organization, and advanced

knowledge of Afghan geography and current

events.



Abilities and Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are

required. Ability to qualify with and use firearms is

required. Good computer skills in the following

programs: Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and

PowerPoint. Must have keyboard skills. Sound

judgment to analyze and interpret the

significance of information and events is required.
