RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for teaching lower division physics courses for science and liberal arts majors as well as upper division physics courses. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Involving undergraduate students in research projects and development of a research program, participation in the ongoing development of the physics program, service to the University, and academic advising are all required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline by August 2014 is required. Postdoctoral teaching and research experience are preferred. Effectiveness in teaching, an enthusiasm for working with and an ability to inspire undergraduate students, and effective communication skills are required. While candidates from all areas of physics will be considered, applicants with backgrounds in experimental physics and an interest in teaching electronics and upper division lab courses are especially encouraged to apply.

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, tenure-track position, beginning August 2014.
