Regional Security Manager - Angola and West Africa

This is an opportunity to join an established

European Oil and Gas business, on a 75/21

rotation.



The Regional Security Manager provides

specialized technical support to Security

Implementation Officers and the Security

Manager, in the context of Angola and West

Africa.



Duties include -

• Provide specialized advice to Security

Implementation Officers (SIOs), local Business and

HR Lines and to all subsidiaries' departments on

all security - related issues of concern.

• Provide technical specialized support to Security

Manager or Security Officer in his area of

responsibility and other relevant Company

departments for the selection of security service

providers and during the execution of security-

related contracts.

• Request to the Corporate Security function to

activate the technical evaluation and validation

processes (due diligence) for security services

providers already selected from technical point

• Supervise the implementation and use at area

level of dedicated security ICT applications

• Monitor updating of HR SIDAC application.

• Ensure conformity of current and planned

security operations with approved security

standards and with existing host country

applicable laws and regulations.

• Review and check from a technical point of

view, ensuring their conformance with existing

Corporate Security Standards, Security Plans,

Evacuation Plans and Security Procedures

prepared by the Project Security Coordinators/

Security Officers.

• Support SIOs to coordinate emergency

management activities at local level.

• Incorporate Lessons Learned from previous

crisis into Security and Evacuation Plans.

• Support the SIOs and Security Managers or

Security Officers to plan for Crisis Management

Team drills.

• Maintain consistent communications and flow of

information with all security stakeholders in his

area of responsibility.

• Fulfill the required reporting requirements as

outlined by the Corporate Security Manager

• Review and approve Security Induction

briefings for the company employees and sub-

contractors. The Security Induction briefing

contains detailed instructions on risk-reduction

behaviours, security procedures and rules

applicable to the specific country/project location

to be complied with by all personnel.

• Provide to the Corporate Security Manager the

results of periodic security assessment/ audit

reports.

• Support Security Managers and/or security

officers in budget Forecasting, Costs Estimation,

SAP Management.

• Support the Corporate Security Manager to

monitor the development of the Integrated

Security System at sites within the field of

responsibility, as well as checking on correct

implementations.

• Support any other activity as directed by the

Corporate Security Manager.

Minimum personnel selection qualifications

• Portuguese speaker, preferably mother-tongue;

• At least 15 years' service including

management positions in national military or

police forces with a honorable discharge;

minimum SNCO/WO or Officer Status;

• No Criminal record

• Ideally the applicant will possess extensive

professional security management experience

and expertise with recent experience of working

in a corporate environment;

• Experience of hostile or complex operating

environments and emerging world markets,

preferably with at least five year's knowledge and

experience of the Oil & Gas industry;

• Security risk management and threat analysis

skills and be skilled in the writing and review of

security procedures and plans;

• Excellent communication skills in spoken and

written Portuguese, English and in any other

language required based on the geographical

area of assignment;

• Proficient ICT skills;

• Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to

liaise with clients at all levels;

• Proven commercial ability in client relationship

management;

• A record of continued promotion and

professional development;

• Strong cultural awareness and experience of

working in the geographical area of assignment.
