Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Milpitas, CA
Duration: Fulltime

Job description:
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a world class team of engineers and scientists working on a leading edge scanning electron microscope tool for the semiconductor industry.  We are looking for an individual who is hands on, highly motivated and a willing team player.

The candidate's primary responsibility will be for the nanometer-level wafer stage and robotics system.  The main focus for this position will be on controls and vibrations, but it is expected that the candidate will own all aspects of the sub-system. 

As such, the candidate will be responsible for:
1.Developing specifications
2.Servo tuning / controls optimization
3.Mechanical / electrical troubleshooting
4.Mechanical design
5.Project / vendor management and scheduling
6.Vibration troubleshooting
7.Modelling and analysis (e.g. tolerance, throughput, thermal, FEA)
8.Managing escalations
9.Prototype fabrication and testing
10.Documentation (procedures, test specs, BOMs, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with the following skills:
1.Precision mechatronics in vacuum systems for sub-nm level vibration
2.Basic controls theory
3.Vibration measurement and troubleshooting
4.Servo tuning

Candidates should have experience with the following tools:
FEA (Mechanica preferred)
Matlab
Labview
Simulink
Pro/E
Precision sensors such as accelerometers, cap gauges, laser interferometers, etc.
Data acquisition systems

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 3 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
