PHYSICS DEPARTMENT, TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS. Full-time, academic year, tenure track at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, CA, beginning 9/15/14. Primary duties and responsibilities are to teach undergraduate physics or astronomy and to maintain an active professional development program that provides research experiences for undergraduates.  
 
A Ph.D. in physics or related field is required and must be completed prior to start of appointment. Must provide evidence of (or potential for) high quality teaching.  
 
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

The Physics Department has some 37 faculty, whose primary function is teaching undergraduate physics courses to students in technical disciplines. We offer programs of study leading to Bachelor of Science and Arts Degrees in Physics, with approximately 160 majors currently enrolled. We also offer minors in astronomy and geology and courses in astronomy, geology, geophysics and oceanography.
