The Ohio State University at Newark invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Physics beginning Fall 2014. Duties include teaching approximately 18 credit hours on a semester calendar, with particular responsibility for lower-level courses in physics and closely related fields, research in accordance with the expectations of the Department of Physics, and service to the department and campus. Commitment to outreach to local and regional communities is preferred. Qualifications include a PhD in physics, the ability to produce research publishable in physics journals and a documented record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. Ohio State Newark faculty members have their primary teaching responsibilities in Newark and are members of their respective departments in Columbus. Instruction takes place in small classes, which facilitates careful attention to student needs. Review of application materials received begins December 5, 2013.
