Security Manager
The Wesley Hospital is a 524 bed private hospital located on a 4 hectare campus in the suburb of Auchenflower, Brisbane. The facility comprises the hospital, three (3) multilevel medical centres and a multilevel car park for 1150 cars. The Security and Fire Services Department deliver security, traffic control and fire services across the campus. All buildings have extensive electronic security systems, including CCTV, which are monitored by our own 24/7 control room.
We are currently seeking a diligent, experienced and highly motivated manager to fill the role of Security Manager. Reporting to the Director - Support Services, you will apply your expertise to the management of our security and car parking operations including dealing with a variety of situations to the highest standard and in a confidential manner.
The key responsibilities for the position include:
Management of security, car parking operations and equipment across the hospital campus
Investigation of security related incidents
Leading a team of security supervisors and officers
Conducting of risk assessments and the auditing of security systems and procedures, including proposing and implementing new systems, as well as ensuring that security systems are maintained and operate effectively.
Develop and implement staff security awareness programs
.Lead the hospital’s Emergency Response Group.
The key skills required for this role include:
Demonstrated ability to manage staff, budgets and the operations of a department/unit.
Strong communications skills including analytical skills to undertake investigations and assessments.
Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with employees at any level across the campus, including Executive staff.
Ability to evaluate security risks, carry out security systems audits and the design and implementation of security systems and associated processes.
Certificate IV in Assessment and Training or equivalent
Class 1 Security Providers Licence
Class 2 Security Advisors Licence
At least 7 years in a supervisory and management role.
