The post is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial term ending 31 December 2013. The field location is Gaziantep, Turkey. Duty trips into the project region in Syria will be required, taking into account the security situation.
Objectives and responsibilities of the position
As Security Advisor (m/f) you are responsible for the operational implementation of security management and the proper use of funds. In addition to security management you will also be responsible for logistics tasks.
Your most important duties are as follows:
Implement security analyses (risk analyses) on location and at the project locations
Analyse, prepare and document security-relevant information
Develop and coordinate security plans and "standard operating procedures (SOP)"
Supervise the planning and implementation of projects in adherence to security-relevant aspects
Provide technical support and assistance to project staff in the area of security management and logistics
Close coordination with security networks and security officers of international and national organisations and the local partners of Alliance 2015
Participate in the planning and implementation of local procurement processes, storage, transport, distribution as well as the assignment and use of materials pursuant to the specified standards
Planning and organisation of imported goods (import regulations, customs formalities)
Participate in the preparation of budgets and project plans
Your qualifications will include:
A university degree or training in security management, logistics or qualifications that are commensurate with this position
Several years of relevant professional experience in security management in other countries in Europe
Experience in project management and the logistical implementation of emergency measures by international (aid) organisations
Coordination and organisational skills - even under difficult local conditions
Ability to communicate and work in a team
A very good knowledge of both spoken and written English; a knowledge of Turkish and/or Arabic is desirable
