Logistics Manager to join our dynamic team.

Embassy Security and Logistics Manager

Salary 44,280 Baht/month 
2 year contract

Main Duties
Security
  • Work closely with the Regional Overseas Security Manager (ROSM) on all aspects of security policy within the Embassy.
  • Lead on arranging rapid security clearances for new members of local staff and efficient and rapid issuing of security passes and conducting of security briefings to both local and UK based staff
  • Oversight of operational security measures in the compound, UK based accommodation including liaison with the outsourced Facilities Management provider.
  • Close supervision of outsourced Embassy guard force.
  • Participate in monthly security guard training and daily meetings.
  • Regular inspection of Embassy compound to ensure general security, including facilitating any arrangements needed to maintain standards of security.
  • Regular liaison with the Royal Thai Police at a senior level, including in facilitating arrangements for VIP and VVIP visits.
  • Lead on applications for permission to travel to less accessible areas of Thailand.

Logistics
  • Direct supervision of logistics team in delivering services required, including heavy baggage/freight arrangements and all transport for the Embassy.
  • Provide advice to the senior management and lead on training and practice for Health and Safety, Fire and First Aid for the Embassy, including risk assessments for major events.
  • Provide support to the wider Embassy in the event of a crisis.
  • Organise annual driver training and assessment of driver capability.

Management
  • Direct line management for two members of staff (Logistics; and Transport/Movements) and countersigning officer for five Embassy drivers. Supervision of the work of the outsourced guard force of 30 staff.

Requirements
  • Experience in a management role in the field of protective security
  • Experience of working with Thai security authorities would be advantageous
  • Have knowledge of UK Health and Safety Regulations, as well as basic knowledge on First Aid
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with a sense of discipline and integrity
  • Have fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Thai language would be an advantage
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work outside office hours as required

Salary:
The British Embassy offers a competitive remuneration package, including salary, benefits, a leave entitlement and training package. The job is linked to the British Embassy’s Locally Engaged Grade 14 pay scale starting at 44,280 Thai Baht per month, with some room for negotiation depending on experience and qualifications. For Non-Thai taxpayers the salary will be abated. Training for the job will be provided where necessary. Employment offers are subject to successful clearance of pre-employment checks.

Hours:
The position is full time, 36 hours per week net. Office hours are 0800 hours – 1630 hours from Monday to Thursday, and 0800 hours – 1300 hours on Friday (36 hours per week), with some out-of-hours engagements, including at weekends.
