The Administration and Faculty of the Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science invites you to join us as FOUNDING FACULTY MEMBER in our pioneering first year of operations to shape and teach an innovative, inquiry-based, engaging curriculum for a talented group of American, Chinese and other international middle and high school students. We are actively seeking applications for three full-time positions for Science faculty for fall 2013. These positions includes teaching topics in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, and/or Computer Science to exceptionally talented and motivated middle and high school students. The positions will also entail mentoring and supporting individual student research projects, which will include teaching research methodology, analysis and writing for publications. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching scientific practices as well as rigorous content, inquiry-based education, a deep knowledge of subject matter, and a demonstrated passion for developing the boundless potential of talented, dedicated students. While faculty members are not required to hold teacher certification, they are required to have at least an undergraduate major in their discipline and a Masters Degree in either their discipline or in teaching. Individuals holding a National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certificate and/or who have published scholarly work in a refereed journal or comparable professional venue will receive additional compensation to the base salary.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Teaching topics in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering or computer science to middle and high school students of exceptional talent
Incorporating the best practices of the Next Generation Science Standards and inquiry-based methodology into instruction
Personalizing learning based on students interests and aptitudes
Identifying and using a range of resources including, but not limited to, online experiences, recognized experts, access to advanced laboratory facilities for instruction and for connecting students to the extended scientific community, participation in significant student competitions and conferences
Guiding and tutoring students outside of class
Mentoring authentic student research projects
Contributing to the curriculum and assessment development in STEM fields
Participating in ongoing professional development such as faculty development programs, professional learning communities, online professional development experiences, etc.
Engaging in the non-teaching activities that support the students and school including sponsoring clubs or activities and/or coaching athletics
All faculty may also be required to occasionally provide evening and weekend supervision on a limited basis as well as take on an occasional additional responsibility as requested.
All faculty will likely be asked to supervise an international student travel experience for a week or two each year within PRISMS network of partner schools.
Skills and Experience:
The required skills and experience for this position include:
A B.A. or B.S. degree in a field related to science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
A Master's degree in science or science education
A demonstrated exemplary teaching record
A strong commitment to inquiry-based instruction
Proven experience of effective communication with students, staff, and parents
Ability to actively engage in a collaborative team environment
A commitment to reflective professional practice and continued professional growth
Salary and Benefits:
Salary and benefits have intentionally been set above both public and private schools in the reason and are based on the candidates education and experience. Faculty who hold National Board Certification or obtain it while they are employed at PRISMS will receive an additional salary adjustment. An adjustment is also made for faculty upon publication of original work in scholarly journals or comparable venues. The Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science offers a generous comprehensive benefits package including health and dental insurance, a prescription drug plan and retirement benefits. One hundred percent of single health insurance is covered, and 90% of family insurance is covered. A limited amount of faculty housing is also available for both single and married staff.
