Legislative Assistant

Republican Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, as well as the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee seeks a Legislative Assistant for a portfolio that will include energy, environment, clean air, and infrastructure, including water infrastructure and flood control. The position may involve additional policy areas. Responsibilities include producing briefing materials for the Senator on assigned issues, preparing Committee briefing materials, developing policy ideas and implementing the Senator's legislative agenda, meeting with constituents, staffing the Senator at relevant events, assisting with constituent mail, and supervising a legislative correspondent and/or legislative fellow. Relevant Hill experience with these issues is required. Exceptional writing skills are essential. Senate experience and familiarity with Gulf Coast issues are preferred.
