The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the College of Charleston has a Visiting Assistant Professor position in astronomy available for the 2013-14 academic year. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in astrophysics or a closely-related field and must be able to accept legal employment in the United States. Preference will be given to candidates interested in maintaining an experimental program using our local observatory facilities and the robotic telescopes. The teaching load is 12 contact hours per week through a combination of astronomy lectures and lab. Enrollment in each introductory astronomy lecture is 48 students per semester with lab sizes of 24 students. Candidates should also arrange for three letters of recommendation addressing the candidate's teaching ability to be directly emailed to Dr. Kuthirummal.
