Job description:
Responsibilities:
The Research Scientist will be responsible for developing, implementing and employing models of high brightness plasma light sources to provide valuable guidance for KLA-Tencor's roadmap in optical wafer inspection.  The Research Scientist will work within the technology and engineering teams to develop promising new concepts, methods and subsystems that will be used to meet these challenges.  Collaborating with other scientists and engineers, the Scientist will develop, validate and employ models of the thermal, hydrodynamic and plasma characteristics of the light sources.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Demonstrated experience modeling and understanding complex multi-physics problems that result from coupling of different physical phenomena.
2.Ability to determine the source of deviations between models and experiments and to define experiments to validate models.
3.strong background in FEA modeling with ANSYS or COMSOL
4.Experience modeling and correctly predicting complex hydrodynamic and radiation phenomena.
5.Experience with optical ray tracing, plasma physics and light/matter interaction.
6.Familiarity with adding custom algorithms to standard software packages.
7.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on multiple projects with different time horizons and different teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 7 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 10 years of experience.
