The Office of Student Academic Affairs and Academy Registrar invites applications for the position of Quantitative Reasoning Center Faculty and Assistant Professor of Physics. One or two positions will be filled. The anticipated start date is August 25th, 2013. The initial appointment will be for three years. Successive reappointments of up to four years are possible. The Center's mission is to provide supplemental instruction in select core academic disciplines in one-on-one and small group settings to enhance student learning and motivation. The incumbent will also teach undergraduate core courses in physics, including the accompanying laboratory and tutorial duties.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will qualify for an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Physics. This appointment requires a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a closely related field. Work experience in a Quantitative Reasoning Center and/or the demonstrated ability to provide supplemental instruction in more than one STEM discipline are highly desired.
