Secretary Relocation Assistance: Yes Apply Link: http://www.glatfelter.com/careers/jobDesc.aspx?id=233 Role Reporting to the Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, the Corporate Counsel provides full legal support to designated departments and operating units and will have ongoing accountability and relationship responsibility. The work assignments consist of legal tasks involving complex problems and questionable facts where considerable judgment and independent reasoning is required. Duties & Responsibilities • Provide general legal counsel and guidance to Glatfelter’s business units on a wide range of legal matters including: commercial issues and corporate transactions (for example; negotiating and drafting commercial agreements), environmental, regulatory and compliance, Intellectual Property, labor and employment, litigation management. (55%) • Research and draft legal documents. (25%) • Maintain relationships with internal clients to receive work, render opinions, and consult and advise; some work handled without supervision or consultation. (20%) Requirements • Experience - 7-10 years Law Firm or In-house counsel in a publicly held manufacturing company; 5-7 years general corporate and commercial contracts experience, ideally in manufacturing; 5-7 years experience in advising corporate clients. o Experience in one or more practice areas strongly preferred: environmental, mergers and acquisitions, international transactions, Intellectual Property, labor and employment Law, general corporate matters, contract drafting and negotiation, compliance, litigation management. o Ability to work independently and assume control and accountability for scope of legal responsibility. o Thinking and acting like a “business partner” demonstrating an understanding of the business and the practical aspects of the law as applied to the operation of the business. o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to communicate with a wide range of Glatfelter stakeholders. o Ability to earn the trust of Glatfelter colleagues and to develop strong business and interpersonal relationships with key personnel. o Unfailing integrity/ethics.
