TT/T at Houghton College

Physics: Assistant or Associate Professor of Physics or Applied/Engineering Physics (2013)

Full-time.  Tenure-track.  Fall 2013.
Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will be expected to teach and develop curricula for introductory and advanced undergraduate physics courses, and assist in teaching one or more physics-related general education courses for non-majors.  An option to teach courses in conjunction with the computer science department is also possible.  A program of research suitable for undergraduate participation and which includes the development of external research collaborations is required. 
Qualifications:  A Ph.D. in physics, applied physics or engineering physics is required.   Candidates with experience in an engineering or industrial environment in fields which complement those already represented in the department are especially welcome.  Must possess outstanding creative, interpersonal and leadership skills, provide evidence of teaching excellence in all levels of undergraduate physics, including labs and courses for non-majors, and have a strong commitment to the Christian faith.
Salary:  Academic rank and salary will be determined based on experience.
