The successful candidate for this tenure-track position will teach undergraduate and master's level earth science; methods of teaching middle and high school science courses; and serve as an advisor for students majoring in the field of science education. There may be occasions when the candidate will be called upon to visit area schools to observe and mentor students in clinical settings. There is an expectation that candidates engage in grant writing and publications in the pursuit of a record of scholarly accomplishment.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess an earned doctoral degree in science education or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education. The candidate must have a minimum of three years experience working as a science educator in a P-12 setting. The candidate must also demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with peers as a team member within diverse settings and diverse populations.

Desired Qualifications:
An active involvement in the profession
Experience training or working with public school teachers.
Experience using educational technology commonly found in a science classroom.
Knowledge of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
