Library Technical Assistant, Circulation - E.C. Scranton Memorial Library, Madison

Library Technical Assistant, Circulation - E.C. Scranton Memorial Library, Madison, has two (2) part-time openings for Library Technical Assistants to work at the Main and Children’s Circulation Desks. Excellent customer service, computer, and communication skills are required. Public library experience is helpful. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. This position is responsible for performing the full range of circulation desk functions while presenting a courteous and welcoming first impression of the Library. Duties include circulating, renewing and reserving materials using the automated circulation system, registering new patrons, managing and updating patron records including fine and fee collection for late or damaged items, answering and routing phone calls, sorting and processing C-Car deliveries, emptying the book drop, and providing information about Library policies, programs and services. Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma, be able to work efficiently and effectively while juggling multiple priorities, and be comfortable working as part of a team. Starting salary is $12.00 per hour and includes paid vacation, sick time and retirement benefits. No healthcare benefits are associated with this position.
