Legislative Assistant -- House Member Personal Office

Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18) seeks an experienced legislative assistant to handle a variety of issues and monitor developments throughout the legislative process. Candidates must have Hill experience, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and bring a high degree of professionalism to our very busy office. This position requires that the individual closely monitor issues, engage with constituents via phone and written correspondence, write floor speeches, co-sponsorship memos, floor memos/vote recommendations, and other policy-related documents. The position also requires staffing the Congressman, extensive meetings and communications with constituents and constituent groups on behalf of the Member and office. The ideal candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of the legislative process, Member office organization, and possess superior writing and analytical skills. Applicants must have a minimum of two years personal or committee office legislative experience. A positive attitude and personal drive a huge plus on our team.
