Duties include but are not limited to: creating and writing proposals, applications and letters of inquiry to national, regional and local foundations and federal, state and city government agencies; conducting research into current, past and prospective funders; developing cultivating relationships with representatives of foundation & government funders; and raising approximately 25% of the annual fundraising budget. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Communications or related field, and at least 5-7 years of grant writing experience. Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with the arts. The DFGR must be an excellent writer, very detail-oriented, diplomatic and organized with a strong ability to effectively communicate details to other staff members and STC management in a timely manner. This position supervises STC staff and participates in development events while maintaining a high level of style and customer service. The Corporate Giving Manager is integral to the Company's corporate sponsorship and philanthropic giving initiatives, including research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate donors for production sponsorship, education and outreach programs, the Free For All, the Annual Gala, Will on the Hill and other projects. This position reports to the Director of Corporate Giving. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, interact well with people, and handle high-pressure situations with diplomacy and tact. Ability to coordinate and execute special events/corporate meetings preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required and at least 2 years related experience in both sponsorship and arts fundraising is recommended. Knowledge of Shakespeare and classic theatre is helpful.
