Job Description:

KLA-Tencor pioneered the automated inspection in the semiconductor industry. KLA-Tencor continues to be the market leader in photomask inspection. Within KLA-Tencor, the RAPID division’s world-class engineering team develops state-of-the-art photomask inspection tools used to verify new masks immediately after manufacture and to requalify masks after use. All 193 nm mask shops use KLA-Tencor’s tools.

Responsibilities:

KLA-Tencor is seeking a staff level Algorithm Engineer to help expand the world's most advanced reticle inspection algorithms to new levels of functionality and performance. You will have opportunities to work closely with scientists and optical engineers to develop the next-generation super resolution DUV/EUV imaging system to detect sub-wavelength defects on a reticle. Activities will include prototyping advanced optical modeling and image processing algorithms used in die-to-database reticle inspection tools, and developing production-grade software implementations.  You are expected to innovate new algorithms based on thorough understanding of the hardware/optics and mathematical formulations.

The ideal candidate will have a technical background in imaging systems, hands-on experience in programming, and excellent math skills. The candidate will need to have a high degree of independence and be passionate about solving difficult technical problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Knowledge of Fourier optics and Optical Lithography is a plus

2) MATLAB programming skill is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

a) Advanced degree in Engineering or Physics with research experience in imaging algorithms or optical imaging

b) 2-4 years of experience in the design of imaging-related algorithms with demonstrated success

c) Proficient in C++ programming and well-versed in standard software development practices

d) Must be able to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively.
