PRIMARY DUTIES: The Assistant Vice President (AVP) will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing multi-disciplinary PR campaigns primarily related to the financial services industry. In this role, the AVP will develop strategic communications plans, provide overall strategic direction to account teams, and manage the implementation of strategic public affairs programs. The AVP will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and be responsible for ensuring that clients receive quality service and results. The AVP will assist in writing new business proposals and pitching new business. The AVP will report to the Vice President, Senior Vice President or Managing Director for the practice area. Desired Skills & Experience REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor’s Degree required. •Minimum of four years experience in public affairs or public relations including strategic communications, media relations, grassroots, coalition building, research and marketing communications. •Multiple years experience working on financial services related issues and with relevant reporters in Washington, D.C. •Ability to develop and manage several multi-disciplinary strategic communications campaigns. •Ability to manage, lead and motivate professional staff. •Outstanding written and verbal communications skills. •Experience writing new business proposals and pitching new business. •Experience in major decision-making and problem solving. •Ability to communicate the impact of legislative and regulatory policies on clients and prospective clients. •PR agency experience preferred. •Hill experience preferred.
