Job Title: Senior Research Scientist
Location: Milpitas, CA
Position: Full time
This Research Scientist will be responsible for developing novel, low-noise, high-speed UV image sensors and the associated analog front end electronics. These sensors will be used in multiple KLA-Tencor wafer inspection systems to detect patterning defects and nanometer-sized particles on semiconductor wafers. In order to allow our customers to meet the challenges of Moore’s law, KLA-Tencor needs to constantly develop new sensors with higher speed and improved sensitivity.
Responsibilities include:
Proposing and developing new sensor designs
Simulating image sensor performance
Characterizing test devices and sensors
Designing and running experiments and analyzing and evaluating the data
Developing test boards and low noise analog circuits
Working with suppliers to improve the design and implement in production
Working with KLA-Tencor product divisions to incorporate into their inspection systems
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent field with 3 years
Knowledge of CCD sensors.
Familiarity with FPGAs and/or Verilog.
Experience designing for semiconductor or other capital equipment.
