Openings at Sphere Consulting

Current Opportunities: Sphere Consulting is seeking uniquely talented candidates for two job openings. Each position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced communications and government relations professional to work on leading public affairs issues in domestic and international business. The selected candidates will focus on a wide range of clients and industry areas, particularly financial services, telecommunications, and healthcare. Vice President Responsibilities:-Develop and implement public affairs campaigns in the above industries, including materials development and outreach to the public and private sectors, media, and institutional stakeholders -Manage senior-level relationships with Sphere clients, ensuring deliverables are met and expectations are exceeded -Research, track, and anticipate policy/regulatory issues for clients through media and legislative analysis -Support Sphere leadership with the implementation of corporate strategy and improved visibility of the firm -Take a leading role in pursuing and winning new business as well as expanding existing client responsibilities -Oversee account teams, including providing guidance to more junior staff Required Qualifications:-7+ years experience in government affairs, media relations, advocacy, journalism, advertising, and/or consulting -Familiarity with key policy debates and ability to crystallize complex issues into straightforward, compelling messages -Exceptional writing skills for policy audiences, media, clients, and prospects -Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities -Ability to multi-task under deadlines in a fast-paced environment -Experience in managing staff and relationships with external organizations -Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science or related field Preferred: -2+ years experience on Capitol Hill -Second language a plus Senior Associate Responsibilities:-Support public affairs campaigns for clients, including media relations, grassroots, government affairs, and issue advocacy -Assist senior staff in management of accounts and serve as contact for day-to-day relationship with clients -Support leadership team in implementation of corporate strategy, in-house research reports and presentations, and improved visibility of the firm -Take a role in pursuing and winning new business Required Qualifications:-2-3 years Hill experience or background in government affairs, media relations, advocacy, journalism, advertising, and/or consulting -Thorough understanding of major business issues and domestic policy debates -In-depth knowledge of current affairs and international politics in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East -Excellent writing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills -Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science or related field Preferred:-Second language a plus The Firm: With offices in Washington, London, and Buenos Aires, Sphere Consulting is a government relations and communications advisory that provides counsel to some of the world's most respected names.
