Information Services and Technology Specialist - Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library. Full time library professional position. Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library is located in southeastern Connecticut, serving a population of 7,500 and is a member of the LION consortium with a shared network using III’s Millennium ILS. We are looking for an individual with excellent reference skills, who is interested in providing personalized customer service, has the ability to manage multiple priorities and is committed to the mission of the public library. Candidates must be able to perform all functions related to the delivery of reference and information services. Primary responsibilities include reference service, readers’ advisory, collection development, and bibliographic instruction. In addition, overseeing the website and emerging technology needs of the library, and assisting the director with marketing library services and programs. The Information Specialist also performs interlibrary loans and services to the homebound. Cross trained in Circulation Department activities as well. Minimum Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree with a Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school and experience indicating the ability to perform required duties. Knowledge of integrated library systems, III’s Millennium preferred. Skilled at using online databases and electronic resources required. Ability to work in an enthusiastic team environment, to adapt to changing needs and resources, manage multiple responsibilities and assist with projects as needed. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft software suite of applications including MS Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint required. Word Press and basic HTML code is required. Must possess proactive approach towards emerging technologies. This position requires day, evening and weekend hours. Salary, DOE, ranges from $39,700-41,600; benefits.
